It is my great pleasure to recommend Shanie Baran as a real estate broker for any person or family searching for the ideal home. Shanie’s professional demeanor, friendliness, and “can do” attitude immediately led me to hire her. She takes immense pride in her work, which is demonstrated in commitment and dedication to her clients’ needs.
My wife and I were comfortable in our small two-bedroom apartment until my extended family from overseas joined us. We needed a two-family home with a yard . . . and fast!
I had set very strict criteria for our new home:
• The safest neighborhood in Queens.
• Easily accessible to public transportation and within 37 minutes from Manhattan.
• A cost no more than approximately $650,000 for an 1,800-2,000 sq. ft. 2-family house (since my income is qualified to purchase this much house).
I wanted a 2-family house so that I can rent out one floor to help me pay my mortgage. I was thinking: Historically New York real estate prices and rents have been steadily increasing an average of about 5%-6% per year. Thus, New York real estate can double in price in approximately 10 years.
As a hard working school teacher, I don’t want to pay high rent in the future. I want my family to live in dignity, and I don’t want to have to answer to a landlord any more. I had been wasting my money on rent and helping my landlord getting rich. I dream of owning a small piece of real estate in New York. And hopefully I can build up some equity along the way.
In the past 12 months, I had looked at more than 20 houses with the assistance of a couple of agents, but with no success. Either the houses were too small or their prices were too high. I almost gave up on my American Dream.
Finally, my friendly mortgage broker Ann—she had pre-approved me for a mortgage more than 10 months earlier—got impatient. She introduced me to Shanie Baran—a real estate expert in the Queens market. One weekend, I met Shanie and her husband Denesh. They took diligent notes regarding my specific needs as well as my budgetary limitations.
Shanie works with her husband as a team. They bounce ideas off of each other, while she remained laser-focused on identifying the best house for me. If you hire Shanie, it is just like “Buy one, get one free.” You will get her husband’s support and help as well.
I wanted a good neighborhood with good value in Queens—places yet to be discovered by New Yorkers. I narrowed my choices down to two to three neighborhood. I asked Shanie to find me the best house that she could.
Shanie found a variety of homes for sale in the best neighborhoods. She did not waste my time with homes that were out of my price range or not in line with our needs.
One day, she called me to take a look at a two family house just coming on the market. I went and was amazed. The house met all my criteria. We quickly took action as we didn’t want to waste any time or lose the house to someone else. After some back-and-forth negotiations, we finally nailed down the contract at a price that was within my range.
Several other real estate agents were also showing the same house to other buyers. I attribute Shanie’s success in part to being licensed as a real estate broker, not just as an agent. If you work with Shanie, you are working with a genuine real estate broker professional, not an inexperienced agent. That can earn respect from other agents and brokers. For the house I bought, the seller’s agent is an associate broker and she worked closely with Shanie until we got the contract accepted by the seller. Without Shanie representing me, I’m convinced that my chance of getting the house would have been diminished.
Shanie has an additional advantage. She previously worked in mortgage financing and knows how to navigate the mortgage application process. She has the connections to help make your mortgage application and processing successful. Finding what you like is one thing; getting the right lender is also critical.

All I can say is this husband wife team are the best. They held my hand through the entire process. They guided me and protected me when they felt I needed it. I had no clue what to expect with buying a home but these guys made the transaction and transition extremely easy. At the end I had Shannie in the room with me In asked her questions instead of my lawyer. That was the level of trust I had for her. He thought we was best friends. Im so happy to have had these guys on my side they saved me from hundreds of dollars more on my mortgage... Theyre not about the money they honestly care about the people . I will be forever grateful for these 2 and highly recommend them Denesh and Shannie thanks again

After myself and family move from our property in upstate NY about about 9 Year ago, I hired a realtor to assist me in renting it out, unfortunately that realtor turned out to be very unprofessional & I had a very terrible experience.
